![]() if you want to file a complaint, it needs to be written in French, not English and sent to the French authorities. There is a lot of variation within the car world, and many factors could lead to different results in a vehicle’s mileage. Not saying they're all bad, its just Quebec is French occupied territory they don't fall under Canadian Law. Lesson learned, be cautious with any suppliers particularly in Quebec. stay away from them! I spent a lot of money for an STi conversion and they basically FUCKED me and laughed knowingly nothing was going to happen to them. I come across smaller Nissan CA18DETs and SR20DETs in poor condition than the Toyotas in general. I've experienced 2JZ-GTEs from other suppliers with no problems, IMO the chances of getting a bad 2JZ-GTE from any importer isn't very likely because they are extremely reliable and built so well to begin with. Ronald is not personally into cars like most of us are and doesn't speak fluent english.Don't question his knowledge, he knows his JDM shit. #JDM ENGINE ZONE PLUS#Buying from a suppiler that is close to you is a plus He also has all the knick-knack stuff like ECU's, AFM's, I/C and tubing, Steering Wheels, Suspension, Rear Ends, Interior Trim pieces to Miata/S2K Hard Tops. Best to check his inventory listing of whats coming in. I've known Ronald since 2000, the owner of He doesn't have always have a large inventory of 2JZ-GTE on hand, because they sell fast and he carries a wide variety of other cool JDM engines and stuff. Money really isnt an issue but i want to spend wisely. I already know my intercooler and downpipe may need to be tweeked but that is no big deal.Ĭan i get any advice on where to get an engine? Im not a good gambler but my options both have different levels of risk. I want an aristo engine and can swap my current oil pans and new parts from my current engine. #JDM ENGINE ZONE HOW TO#Im leaning towards getting a used jdm engine again but im not sure how to go about finding a trustworthy importer. I fear getting an engine that had "good compression" and being one of the horror stories ive read about with blown headgaskets, leaking turbo seals, etc. My concern is taking steps backwards here. Ive checked ebay and contacted importers who i can get an engine from for around $2,000. I do have a local importer i can go pick one out from but he only sells complete swaps with R154 trans for $4300. My concern here is getting a good engine by itself. This wont be cheap but in this case id run the engine stock off of the factory ecu (stock twins and injectors). My second option is to get another used Jdm engine. My concerns here are first that it will be costly, second it will require an immediate tune before i start it up to be sure the new engine is properly broken in, and third there are no great tuners here in missouri that i know i can trust. In this case ill be keeping the single turbo and immediately upgrading to a stand alone ecu. Im trying to decide whether to get a new usdm shortblock from toyota and redo the current head. It does have a single turbo and 750cc injectors but was tuned on a piggyback rather than a standalone. I purchased it with a rod knocking so the engine is no good. Long story short, i got what I think is a good deal on a 95 NA supra that was swapped with a JDM 2jzgte engine. Ill explain my situation then my options here, then bring the conversation to the title of my thread. First, of all I apologize for making various threads related to this subject Im just not comfortable with my conclusions thus far. ![]()
